Job description/overview:
The Galambany Circle Sentencing family support worker will provide multidisciplinary case management and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people appearing before the Galambany Circle Sentencing Court within an integrated family justice model.
The Family Support Worker is responsible for achieving the best possible outcomes for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people appearing before the Court and their families. The role will assist in the delivery of the “Surviving Out Side” program. This program is a life skills-based program and aims to teach participants how to manage their own lives.
It is a holistic culturally responsive support program. Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander culture underpins the sessions and is a significant part of the learning process.
